Christmas Wreath Contest
Each year, as part of the "Celebration in the Oaks," garden clubs in the New Orleans area design and decorate wreaths to be placed around the carousel in New Orleans City Park. The theme changes every year, but always includes "Mr. Bingle."
Christmas Door Decoration Contest
During the month of December, members of Terrytown Garden Club participate in a Christmas Door Decoration contest. Winners are announced at the annual Christmas party with ribbons awarded.

During the Fall Garden Festival at New Orleans Botanical Garden, individuals, families, businesses, civic organizations, and schools are invited to create a one of a kind scarecrow for the Scarecrow Trail. Scarecrows fall into either traditional, scary, or funny categories and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place are awarded out of those categories.. Scarecrows are on display during the month of October.
